  LIBERTY SAGA by skiredd
===========================
Liberty Saga is a save manager that combines the stories of GTA IV, The Lost and Damned, and The
Ballad of Gay Tony into one campaign. It adds chronological mission guidance,
free-roam switching between Niko, Johnny, and Luis, character skills, character switch scenes, and
previous-character encounters in the open world.

=================
  PREREQUISITES
=================
- GTA IV: Complete Edition version 1.2.0.59.
- FusionFix v5.1.1 with a 32-bit ASI loader.

===========
  INSTALL
===========
1. Close GTA IV and back up your game folder and saves.
2. Install FusionFix v5.1.1 and its ASI loader.
3. Extract the ZIP contents into the inner GTAIV folder beside GTAIV.exe

If FusionFix skips the episode selector, you are required to set SkipMenu = 0 under [MAIN] in plugins\GTAIV.EFLC.FusionFix.cfg.

Regular and Liberty Saga saves stay in separate profile folders. Keep Rockstar cloud saves disabled so it does not copy saves between them.

========
  PLAY
========
1. Select Liberty Saga on the main menu using either F6/clicking the button, or navigating to it with a controller.
2. Start GTAIV, as the first chronological mission is IV's first mission "The Cousins Bellic"
3. Johnny unlocks after "Uncle Vlad", and Luis unlocks after "Three Leaf Clover". When multiple characters are unlocked, hold the configured wheel button down (Left Alt/D-pad down by default) to open the wheel and switch characters.
- Switching is available in free roam and is blocked while wanted, on the phone, during missions, cutscenes, and other restricted states.

Campaign progress and saved progress are tracked separately. A completed mission stays recorded while Liberty Saga checks your manual saves and autosaves. If no
save contains the required missions, "Save your game to continue switching" appears in free roam. Save normally; compatible saves are detected automatically.

Loading an older campaign save offers "Resume latest" or "Replay to catch up". Catch-up keeps your newest chronology and permits its missing
missions without repeating Liberty Saga completions. Save after catching up before switching. Conflicting saves require an explicit selection. The
configured recovery key (F7 by default) retries failed verification.

  SETTINGS AND SUPPORT
========================
Edit LibertySaga\LibertySaga.ini to change controls and other settings.
Set [CharacterWheel] HoldKey to a key name such as LeftAlt (the default), RightAlt, Space, or F8. Restart after changing it.

Set [CharacterWheel] ControllerHoldDelayEnabled=false to open the wheel as soon as D-pad Down is pressed. The default is true. Restart after changing it.

Set [Audio] TransitionMusicVolume to a percentage from 0 to 100 to adjust the character music during switches (default 30; 0 silences it). Restart the game after changing this setting.

To disable skills, set [General] Enabled=false in LibertySaga\skills.ini.

The main log is LibertySaga\LibertySaga.log. If something goes wrong, send me that log, and the episode and mission where it happened.
Preserve LibertySaga\state\campaign-progress.snapshot and its .bak alongside your campaign saves; do not delete progress to clear an error.

  UNINSTALL
=============
The save folders below are in Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV (or your configured save path):
- Profiles (or Profiles.Regular): your regular saves.
- Profiles.LibertySaga: your Liberty Saga campaign saves.

1. Close GTA IV. Under Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV, Profiles should exist. If Profiles.Regular also exists, preserve all profile folders and run LibertySaga\Configure-LibertySagaProfiles.ps1 before removing the mod.
2. Back up LibertySaga for campaign progress and settings, and Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA IV\Profiles.LibertySaga for campaign saves. Keep your regular Profiles save folder.
3. Remove plugins\LibertySaga.asi, plugins\SkiCEText.asi and the LibertySaga folder beside GTAIV.exe. That folder contains the mod's settings, logs, campaign state, character-wheel images, and session backups.

If Profiles.Regular remains after profile setup, send me the names and contents
of all three profile folders before moving or removing any save folder.
